Becoming a dog trainer has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had a dog in the house and I always enjoyed being around them. When I was 15 years old, I got my first dog of my own, a Siberian Husky. Stella and I enjoyed taking different obedience classes and learning beginner and advanced tricks. After graduating high school, I decided to pursue an education and career working with animals. I obtained a degree as a Veterinary Technician and worked at Companion Animal Hospital for 2 years after graduating college. While working with multiple types of dogs each day, my interest in training dogs and helping owners grew even more. I began looking into career paths that involved dog training and came across a school for professional dog trainers in Hutto, Texas called Starmark Academy. Starmark is known for being one of the most comprehensive schools for dog trainers. I completed their 12 week intensive training program and graduated with a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist Certification. It was an amazing experience and definitely worth it. I was able to work through the program with my younger dog, Olian and a rescue dog I was assigned to named Anna. They both learned everything from basic obedience to multiple tricks, agility, odor detection and advanced off leash obedience while adding in all kinds of distractions. Now that I have moved back to Fergus Falls, I am excited to bring my business to the area and help owners and dogs reach their goals through training.
